We explored Mexico looking for a great melting cheese similar to Chihuahua, but with better flavor. We found the winning cheese in the state of Durango. Although locally it is known as Mennonite Cheese because its recipe was created by this community, it is better known as Duranguense. This aged cheese is recognized for its great flavor and superior melting abilities. Our Duranguense can be used as a delicious topping for many traditional Mexican recipes and in pizza, casseroles, and cheeseburgers! Try our other award-winning cheeses: Queso Fresco; Panela; Oaxaca; Cotija; Para Freir.
